Good central location and good sized room and comfortable bed.
Hotel was looking tired and in need of refurbishment. Room was a little worse for wear and in need of a few repairs. Windows should have far better soundproofing from street, especially considering the central location. Hotel very expensive for the level of quality.
The hotel is very conveniently located, the rooms are small but comfortable, and the breakfast is quite nice.
Our first room opened onto the street and was very noisy at night. When we changed to an interior room, it was much better. Overall, the hotel decor is getting a little shabby and worn.
We nearly cancelled our booking after seeing comments on trip advisor, but went with it!to be honest, I could see why some of the bad comments were there, furniture tired, needs a good update, uncomfortable bed and dodgy bedding(shaggy old blankets in 2011..and €110 per night..whats all that about!)it wasnt dirty as such..but you really shouldnt find hairs on €120 a night in my humble opinion!yes..it was noisy..but thats location for you, for me it was acceptable and not a problem!the only gripe I have..and maybe its just me..but why do hotels,of any nature insist on having glass doors..in this case with a nice see thro panel..with no lock on the door!yes my partner and I are close..but not that close!it always upsets me immensley and I wouldnt stay there again for that reason, but thats just me!oh..no kettle/basic tea making and the tv is just bog standard spanish, despite the blurb about super duper any language available!fantastic location, but if on a budget prob better off going hostal €60 per night as you will be dissapointed its not better for the money.
Glass see thro door on the bathroom with no lock..ARRRGGGHHH!if you are ok paying mega bucks for hotels, then this may seem a bargain and you wouldnt gripe too much, but if you are trying to pay double what you would normally and expect something a bit special..stick to € 60 a night, there are places to stay of equal quality in madrid at half the price!
Location is excellent...close to the best of a lot of things.
The WiFi signal is not that strong in some of the rooms. The breakfast in the morning was okay, but our table was not cleaned very well and the milk was downright rancid. I'd skip the breakfast.
Excellent location for sight-seeing. Very close to Metro station. The staff who helped us check in was very helpful. He even helped us to book tickets to the Real Madrid match. Thanks again. The staff in the hotel speaks good English. Though the room was no equipped with hot drinking water. The staff helped us to heat up a glass of hot water for me to drink the Frenadol. Gracias!
The airport bus station is a bit far fromt he hotel. Otherwise, I have no complaints at all.
Location was great and very comfortable compared to other European hotels. Staff was very helpful.
The heat works very very well and we needed to sleep with windows open.
Excellent central position and quiet despite its location. Staff pleasant and efficient. Good breakfast.
Wash basin cracked in room 509 and bathroom floor in poor condition.
The hotel was centrally situated in Madrid,it was clean and the breakfast was good. It was very good value for money.
The top bunk did not have a guard on it and was dangerous. The door to the bathroom had a clear glass design in the middle which meant there was no privacy.
Excellent location, walking distance to major city sights, clean rooms, free internet access, helpful staff, fine breakfast. Surely I recomend it to visitors.
The location is very convenient. The services of the receptionists are bright and kind. The receptionists spoke English well. The vending machine set up in the reception is convenient to buy the drink.
The problem was not found of this hotel. It may be better that the hotel signboard is larger if daring to say.
Staff was very pleasant.
I was slightly misled into thinking that all rooms have balconies - which is why I chose this particular hotel and not a less expensive alternative next door. This is not the case. Stayed for 2 nights, first night had only a "roof" window, second night had a "balcony" consisting of a window ledge.
Great location,friendly and helphul staff.
Very noisy people in other rooms - slammed doors all night. There should be a hinge on the doors that stops them banging. With the name High Tech I expected it to be a suitable room to write a paper and work durning the day. The TV screen was so big there was no space for a laptop on the desk. The chair was not designed for computer use. I asked for an iron and ironing board, which the staff happily gave me, but there was no table to rest the (small tale-top) board on. All in all, though, the room was comfortable and i would stay there again if i was on a vacation trip but nt when I needed to use the desk.
The room was small, not any drawer space. The beds were hard and the bathroom was a little run down. Also, the room was a little noisy.
Hotel staff was excellent. The physical condition of the rooms left a little to be desired. Great location. Within seconds of the metro and on a street with no automobile traffic. Hotel is located right in the historic center of the city.
Shower door fell off a few times mid-shower.
very helpful staff, good breakfast, bedroooms soundproof despite closeness to Puerta del Sol, free internet access,
"Tired" - glass washbasin in room was cracked, no plug.
